Stop Saying You’re Broke — Say This Instead and Watch God Move

By Kindness Calloway  |  Faith  ·  Mindset  ·  Abundance

Many people are in a tough spot financially right now — and if that’s you, you are absolutely not alone. But here is a truth that can begin to change everything: you are not permanently stuck here. Something will shift for you — and it can begin shifting today — the moment you commit to one simple but powerful change.

Your Words Are Creating Your World

Have you ever caught yourself saying “I’m too broke for that” or “I just can’t afford it right now”? While those feelings may be real in the moment, the Bible offers us a radical alternative. In Joel 3:10, scripture says: “Let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich.”

This isn’t about lying to yourself. It’s about refusing to word-curse your own future. Instead of “I’m broke,” try:

  • “I’m going to sit this one out — I’ve got work to do.”
  • “I really need to rest. I’ll pass this time.”
  • “I’d love to, but I think it’s best I don’t go this time.”

The Creator is always listening. Every time you declare “I’m so broke!” you are sending a signal to the Universe — and it delivers exactly that energy back to you: more lack, more fear, more struggle. Your words are seeds. Plant wisely.

“Let the weak say I am strong.” — Joel 3:10

You Already Have More Than You Think

You are already worthy. Not after the bills are paid. Not when the raise finally comes. Right now, exactly as you are, you are worthy, valuable, and needed. And when you truly begin to believe that — things start to shift.

Gratitude is the magnet for more. Let’s pause and look honestly at what you already have:

Are you reading this from outside a hospital right now? That is a blessing. Countless people are lying in hospital beds right now, wishing they could be anywhere else.

Do you have two working hands? Can you walk, reach, open a door? That is a blessing. Tens of thousands of people were born with conditions that left them without limbs or limited mobility for life.

Is your mind clear? Can you think, create, imagine? That is a blessing. And if your mind struggles but your heart is still open to love — that too is worth giving thanks for.

Can you breathe without assistance? Do you sleep under a roof? Have food to eat? Even one person who checks on you? Every single one of these is a blessing.

Gratitude doesn’t mean pretending things are perfect. It means opening your eyes to what is still good, what is still here, what is still working. And the more you give thanks for those things, the more good you will find showing up.

Affirmations to Declare Right Now

Smile at your fingers. Wiggle your toes. Choose to be grateful for the bills you can pay. Say thank you for the food already in your fridge, the people who love you, and the wisdom you’ve gained on this journey.

The more you praise, the more reasons you’ll be given to keep praising. So let’s do this — together. Speak these words out loud if you can:

“I am aligned with Divine abundance. All my needs are met because the Lord is my Shepherd. I lack nothing. Money, success, and love flow to me easily and effortlessly. I am open to receive the good God has for me. I am grateful for all I have and all that’s on the way. Today I choose faith over fear. I thank you in advance, Heaven, because I know my blessings are here. I am trusting You and choosing gratitude. Thank you. Amen.”

— Declare this daily

God Is Not Late

You are not forgotten. The Universe is working hard for you behind the scenes right now. Praise even when you don’t see it yet. Trust that Heaven is doing what you can’t. God has done it before — and will do it again.

“The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” — Proverbs 10:22

“I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” — Psalm 37:25

And just when you least expect it — God is going to turn it all around.
